Clean Upper Elbe Water Management Project Successfully Continues
2010 Construction on one of the largest water management projects in the Eastern Bohemia Region is successfully continuing.
The contractor for the project is the CLEAN UPPER ELBE Association, with members BAK Construction as the leading contractor, and VCES Corp.
The Clean Upper Elbe project is engaged in completing and reconstructing the entire sewer system for the Vrchlabi urban area. Of the total 36.7 km length of the sewer system and 4.7 km in runouts to buildings in Vrchlabi, 21 km of the sewer system and 2.3 km in runouts have already been laid and reconstructed. Upon completion of the project, all wastewater will be treated through a central sewage treatment plant in accordance with legal norms. With the reconstruction and completion of the sewer network, the area will be almost 100% hooked up. Funding for the project comes from the State Fund for the Natural Environment and the European Cohesion Funds.
From 25/3 until 21/5, through traffic will be restricted on Krkonos Street from Namesti Miru (starting at May 5 Street) up to the bridge over the Elbe. The detour will go up May 5 Street, past the parking lot behind Strelnice and continuing to Horske Street. A portion of the detour will be controlled by traffic lights.
